Who we are
α-side is a social network for music, currently in beta. For any privacy question, write to alphasideexperience@gmail.com.
What we collect
Your email address and password (stored only as a secure hash); the username, name and bio you choose; the reviews, ratings and likes you create; and, if you sign in with Google, your Google name and email. To keep the service safe we briefly process your IP address for rate limiting and bot protection.
Why
To run your account and show your activity to others according to your privacy settings (performance of our agreement with you), and to protect the service against abuse (our legitimate interest). We do not sell your data and we do not show ads.
Who processes it
Supabase (database and sign-in, EU region), Vercel (hosting), Upstash (rate limiting), Sentry (error reports without personal data, EU region), Cloudflare Turnstile (bot protection), Google (sign-in with Google, and the delivery of our emails). Music information comes from Spotify, previews from Deezer, charts from Kworb and lyrics from LRCLIB; they receive no personal data from us.
How long we keep it
Until you delete your account. Deleting it removes your profile, reviews and likes immediately; copies in backups disappear when those backups expire.
Your rights
In Settings you can download all your data and delete your account. You can also ask us to correct your data, object to its processing, or complain to your data protection authority (in Portugal, the CNPD).
Cookies
We only use the cookies needed to keep you signed in. There are no analytics or advertising cookies.
Age
You must be at least 13 years old to use α-side.
